PRESS REPORT: MEZAH FOUNDATION’S BACK TO SCHOOL INITIATIVE
For Immediate Release: August 23, 2023
Mezah Foundation Distributes Essential Back to School Kits in the South West Region of Cameroon
BUEA, Cameroon 8-23-2023– The Mezah Foundation, a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has recently undertaken an admirable endeavor of distributing 305 back to school kits to children, primarily orphans and those displaced by the ongoing disturbances in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon.
As the new academic year approaches, many families, particularly in the North West and South West regions, face considerable challenges. The Mezah Foundation’s initiative ensures that these children are equipped with essential school supplies, including bags, books, pens, pencils, toiletries, and in some instances, the foundation even covers tuition fees.
To date, the towns of Mutengene and Tiko in the South West Region have benefited from this charitable act, with a total of 11 dedicated Mezah Foundation volunteers and PAs tirelessly working on the ground to ensure efficient distribution. The next leg of the mission is poised to cover Buea in the South West Region, and subsequently Dschang in the West Region, and Bamenda in the North West Region.
The source of funding for this magnanimous initiative can be traced back to the Mezah Foundation’s fundraising event, which took place on August 4, 2023, in Maryland, USA. The event successfully garnered the resources and backing required to launch this back-to-school campaign.
Ms Mildred, a representative from the Mezah Foundation, remarked, “Education is a fundamental right, and no child should be deprived of learning because of circumstances beyond their control. With the support of our donors and volunteers, we hope to make a positive impact and light the path for these young minds.”
The Mezah Foundation wishes to express its profound gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the Maryland fundraiser. It is through collective efforts and shared humanity that such initiatives can see the light of day.
